We are involved in an international organization called First Lego League, or FLL for short. FLL is a global robotics-based life skills challenge program for children age 9-16. FLL is designed to get participants to work together in teams building and programming a Lego robot to complete missions on a playing field, during what  is called the Robot Game. Other components of an FLL competition are core values, robot design, and a project on a topic from the season's overall theme. Through FLL, participants engage in science, technology, and engineering, while learning valuable skills essential for future careers. Some of these valuabe skills include:

The theme for the 2016/17 FLL season is Animal Allies. For the project aspect of the FLL competition, teams were asked to think of an interaction between humans and a member of the animal kingdom and how that interaction could be improved for either humans or the animal. Our project focused on the declining bee populations world-wide and what humans can do to help save the bees.

We are one of about 100 teams, from around the world, that has earned a spot at an international  competition being held at the University of Bath, in Bath, England from June 21st to June 25th. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Dynamic Robotic Duo and we are really hoping we are able to get to the competition and represent our city, province, and country at an international event.
